What Is CEREC?

CEREC is a dental crown treatment that can be completed in one office visit. In one appointment, Dr. Claire Cho can design, fabricate, and attach a dental crown to a broken or fractured tooth to restore its structure, function, and appearance. In contrast, traditional crowns can take several weeks to complete, requiring that you use a temporary restoration during the interim period. With CEREC, you can walk out of our practice with a beautifully restored smile on the same day of your initial visit.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown Procedure 

A dental evaluation by Dr. Cho is the first step toward getting same-day crowns using CEREC technology. Dr. Cho will assess the damage to your tooth to see if a crown is the best option for treatment. If so, we’ll prepare your tooth by removing some of the enamel to make room for your crown to fit naturally.

Next, we’ll take digital impressions of your damaged tooth and send these to our design software to custom-design a crown that’s perfectly suited for your use. This design is sent to our milling unit, where your restoration will be fabricated in as little as 30 minutes. Once your crown is made, we’ll do last-minute touch-ups, ensure it fits properly and cement it to your tooth to complete your treatment.

Dr. Claire Cho, DDS, brings over 31 years of experience to her practice. She completed her residency through Nobel Biocare and earned surgical and prosthetic certification from the Misch Implant Institute. In 2011, Dr. Cho was awarded fellow status by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. She is certified in oral plastic surgery following specialized soft tissue grafting courses and is one of the few dentists in Orange County certified to offer LANAP. Dr. Cho stays current by attending many continuing education programs annually. Recent accolades include nominations for Top Doc of Orange County and Best of LA Cosmetic Dentist.


Dr. Alyssa Kim

Dr. Alyssa Kim completed her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego before earning her DDS at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dedicated to staying at the forefront of dental advancements, she actively pursues continuous education. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Contemporary Dental Institution, and Pacific Implant Academy. She serves on the Korean American Dental Association (KADA) Philanthropy Foundation and Pre-Dental Mentorship Program. Dr. Kim has also completed extensive implant training through the OASIS Implant Academy in Tijuana, Mexico.
