What Can I Expect During My Dental Implant Consultation?

Examination

Examination

We will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums in addition to assessing your bone density. Patients with inadequate bone density may require a bone grafting procedure prior to placing the implants.

X-Rays

X-Rays

Your examination may involve x-rays and computer tomography scans (CT scans). We will use the x-rays to determine the exact placement location for the implants.

Discussion

Discussion

We will discuss all your oral hygiene routine, medical/oral health history, and personal habits that may influence the success of the implant procedure. Smoking, for example, may disqualify a patient, because tobacco use can negatively affect the successful integration of implants.

Review Options

Review Options

Based on the results of the examination, your doctor will recommend which type(s) of dental implant procedures are best suited for your unique oral healthcare needs. Today’s patients also have numerous implant treatment options to choose from, including traditional implants, All-on-4 implants, implant supported dentures, and more.

Finances

Finances

Dental implant cost can hinder some patients from receiving dental implants. We work closely with you and your insurance to create a financial plan that fits into your budget and provides the best possible solution for your oral health needs.

What to Expect with Our Implant Treatment Process

Your consultation is only the first step in your journey toward a new smile. From your first appointment, we use our CT scans to create custom surgical guides to be used during your placement procedure. On your day of surgery, we will complete any tooth extractions and bone grafting needed to prepare your jaw for dental implants. Then, using our guides, we place one or more dental implants into the bone. Your dental implants will take anywhere from 3-6 months to fully heal and integrate into your jaw bone. When healed, you will return to our office to receive your permanent restoration. In a matter of months, you will be able to experience the amazing benefits of having a healthy, functional, and beautiful smile once again!
