SEDATION dentistry - ALISO VIEJO, CA
For some patients, the thought of a simple dental visit can be stressful and scary. In order to create a comfortable and relaxing experience, the Dental Health & Aesthetics Center offers two levels of sedation for your dental visits
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral Conscious Sedation is method of sedation using a combination of drugs taken orally. If you avoid dental treatment because you feel anxious or nervous, oral conscious sedation is a good option for you. The medication will help reduce pre-operative anxiety for a good night’s sleep before the procedure, and your level of sedation will be maintained during the procedure to ensure your comfort. Many patients often drift in and out of sleep during the procedure.
Intravenous Sedation (General Anesthesia)
Intravenous sedation is the deepest sedation option for those with extreme dental phobia or those undergoing difficult dental surgery. An anesthesiologist will monitor and control the medication at your chairside to ensure you will not feel, see, or remember anything about the procedure.
DentalVibe is a special syringe that vibrates as the injection is being given. DentalVibe works to block the pain receptors in the brain by creating a gentle vibration of the injecting syringe. Because the signal of the vibration reaches your brain faster than the signal for pain, you do not feel the sensation of the injection.
STA: Single Tooth ANESTHESIA
The Single Tooth Anesthesia system is a computer controlled injection unit which controls the speed and volume of anesthetic delivery. The unit ensures that only the necessary tooth becomes numb, and that the ideal amount of anesthetic is delivered. Not only does the unit ensure painless and comfortable injection, it also eliminates excessive numbing of the surrounding area when work is to be performed on a single tooth, so that your numbness will not affect your post-visit activities.
